Trip 3: The Odyssey North – Legends, Caves & Islands

Venture north through the Ionian Sea on a mythic route between Kefalonia, Ithaka, and Lefkada. Visit uninhabited isles, WWII hideouts, and dreamy bays.

Starting Point – Fiscardo Harbour | 09:30
Leaving the harbor, we head northeast through the narrow strait separating Kefalonia, Ithaka, and Lefkada. Keep an eye out—playful dolphins often guide us along this magical route.

First Stop – Arkoudi (Asteris) Island
Mentioned in Homer’s Odyssey, Arkoudi is an untouched island blanketed in greenery. Its two hidden beaches and mystical aura offer a unique and peaceful escape.

Second Stop – Papanikolis Cave
Next, we sail north to this fascinating sea cave—once a secret hideout for the legendary Greek submarine “Papanikolis” during WWII. Experience a blend of nature and history from within.

Third Stop – Lunch at Sivota Bay
Nestled on Lefkada’s west coast, Sivota is a cozy, fjord-like harbor shielded from wind. Enjoy a walk along the bay and savor a laid-back lunch with authentic island tastes.

Last Stop – Afales Beach for Swimming
Our day ends with a refreshing swim at Afales beach in northern Ithaka. Discover a mosaic of secluded coves, lush trees brushing the waterline, and quiet white-sand corners that can only be reached by boat.

Endpoint – Fiscardo Harbour | 15:00
We return to Fiscardo by mid-afternoon, hearts full and cameras packed with snapshots from a day between myth and sea.
